BREAC Programme
"Building Respect, Empathy And Community" - BREAC stems from the concept of community circles, which originates in aboriginal societies. Research has shown that if a culture of community circles exists in a society/community, these circles can be used for decision-making, conflict resolution and team-building. In high schools, recent studies have indicated that community circles help with inclusivity and decrease bullying. At Holy Name, we are using BREAC to nurture the community that already exists, and to foster empathy and respect among our school population.
