Choir wins at Festival of Song

On Saturday, November 19th, the Holy Name of Mary College School senior choir won second place at the 22nd International Festival of Religious Song.  The Choir, conducted by Ms. Santoni and accompanied by Ms. Rebello, performed ‘Pie Jesu’, which is the most famous movement of Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem.

The festival was held on November 18-20, 2011 at the John Paul II Polish Cultural Centre in Mississauga and featured special guest performers Gang Marcela, a staple of the Polish music scene for over 30 years and John Michael Talbot, who is one of the pioneering artists of what has become known as Contemporary Christian Music.
