Board of Directors
The HNMCS Board of Directors oversees the strategic, financial and operational sustainability of the school and is comprised of members from our founder organisations, parents and community leaders. Board members are dedicated to the success of the school and play a very strategic role in its continued evolution.
Dan A. Giampuzzi, BSc., MBA, ICD.D - Chairman
A pharmaceutical and biotech executive with 30 years of progressive experience in the capacity of Board Director, CEO, President, General Manager, and Entrepreneur for such organizations as Ventures West Capital Ltd., Gemin X Biotechnologies Inc., MDS Capital Corp., Searle Canada Inc. and Dow Chemical Inc.
Ed Gibbs
A business executive with over twenty-five years of experience and growth in the management and development of both company and association management, with a demonstrated record as President and CEO of the Gib-San Group of Companies and an industry spokesperson in numerous management roles.
Sr. Celestine Giertych, C.S.S.F.
Sr. Mary Celestine entered the congregation of St. Felix of Cantalice (Felician Sisters) in November 1957. Her achievements include a BA & MA (Ed.) in Administration from the University of Toronto and courses in Old and New Testament – Scripture Andragogy at the University of Toronto; Spiritual Direction program at Guelph, Ontario in the summer of 1971; and 30-day directed retreats in the summer of 1971, 1972 and 1974 including directing 6 to 8 day retreats for various groups or individuals throughout the years of 1971 up to the present day.
She was also Provincial Minister of the Felician Sisters in Canada 1989-1994 and 2007 – 2009 and Vicar General of the Congregation of the Felician Sisters from 1994 – 2006 with Formation as the portfolio
Michael Hudon, B.Comm, MBA
A business executive who currently owns and operates a strategy consulting and executive coaching business, Michael has held numerous executive positions in the technology sector over the last 25 years with AT&T, NCR, and Cisco Systems. Most recently he was Vice President, Global Strategy and Business Operations for Cisco Systems services worldwide and contributed significantly to the exponential growth of the services business during his 12 years at Cisco.
Hugh M. Kelly, Q.C., KC*HS, KM
A lawyer with over forty-five years of experience in advising clients on education and charitable and not‑for‑profit organizations matters, Hugh acts for Catholic and public school boards, and private schools within Ontario. He is the author of "Duties and Responsibilities of Directors of Not‑For‑Profit Organizations".
Fr. Joseph Redican, C.S.B.
Fr. Joseph Redican was born in Chatham, Ontario in 1951. He was ordained as a Basilian Priest in May, 1983. He attended Michael Power High School and later the University of Toronto where he earned his Bachelor’s in Education and Master of Divinity degrees.
Fr. Redican’s career in education began in 1975 as a teacher at Fr. Henry Carr High School. He later served as a Deacon Intern at St. Theresa’s Parish, Sugar Land, Texas. From 1983-86, Fr. Redican was the Dean of Students at St. Charles College in Sudbury. In 1988, he became Principal at Assumption College School, a position he held until 1994. From 1995-1998, Fr. Redican served as Principal of Catholic Central High School. His last position prior to joining the St. Michael’s community was President & Principal of Holy Redeemer High School, Detroit (1999-2005). In 2006, Fr. Redican was elected a Councillor for the Basilian Fathers’ General Council a duty his now fulfills alongside his position as President of St. Michael’s College School (since 2005).
Terence M. Sheridan
Terry Sheridan grew up in Willowdale, Ontario, and graduated from St. Michael’s College School in 1989. He attended York University where he earned his Honours B.A. and B. Ed. In 2003, Sheridan obtained his Master of Arts in Teaching from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (O.I.S.E.) and is currently pursuing a Ph. D. in Educational Administration from O.I.S.E.
Sheridan’s career in education started in 1994 when he accepted a position as an English teacher at St. Mary’s Catholic Secondary School in Pickering, Ontario. In 1997, he returned to his alma mater, to teach English, Theology and Geography. In 2001, he was promoted to Vice Principal of Discipline and, in 2006, his portfolio was upgraded to Vice Principal of Curriculum and Teacher Development.
As a key part of the St. Michael’s administrative team, Sheridan has been instrumental in curriculum development, advancing information technology, establishing a learning enrichment centre, and implementing policies and procedures for student and staff care under crises.
On January 1, 2010, Terence Sheridan was welcomed as the 28th Principal in the history of St. Michael’s College School and only the second lay person named to the position.
Andrea White, BSc., MEd., Ph.D
Andrea White joined Felician Services, Inc. in January 2004 as its Vice President of Marketing. In January 2009 she assumed the role of Chief Knowledge Officer and Ministry Designee. Prior to joining Felician Services, Andrea served as President of Good Counsel High School in Chicago, a Felician sponsored ministry. During her tenure at Good Counsel High School,
Andrea led several strategic planning initiatives within the Archdiocese of Chicago with focus in the areas of Marketing and Technology. With her education administration experience Andrea served on the board of a Girls’ Catholic High School while chairing a four-campus Charter School Board. She co-founded a not-for-profit Foundation that distributed college scholarships to urban high school graduates.
