Middle School

In our Middle School programme, which encompasses grades 5 through 8, our students benefit from small classes where their individual learning needs are met by dynamic and caring teachers who create a friendly and cooperative classroom environment. Students are challenged to develop themselves as young Catholic women, to become critical, reflective thinkers, to strive for academic excellence, to develop personal leadership skills and responsible citizenship.

Emphasis on literacy and numeracy skills forms the foundation of our junior school programme and paves the way for success in all academic areas. Our positive, safe and supportive learning environment, with an emphasis on time management and effective study skills, helps students fulfill their academic potential. Our classroom environment is inquiry-based and provides students opportunities for hands-on experiences.   Each student’s unique learning style is addressed and students are exposed to a variety of age-appropriate, authentic learning tasks.

In grades 5 and 6, Science, Mathematics, Language Arts and Social Studies, Visual Art, Drama and Technology are taught by a core teacher and students have a rotary timetable for French, Religion, Physical Education and Music.

In preparation for senior school, students in grades 7 and 8 follow a full rotary timetable for the subjects, Mathematics, Science, French, Religion, Social Studies, Physical Education, Music and English. All subjects are taught by OCT certified teachers who are specialists in their subject area.
