Your gift provides opportunities
Holy Name of Mary College School is an incredibly special place for our girls. Your daughters adapted quickly to this unprecedented educational shift caused by COVID-19. We promise to continue to keep them engaged and educated during this extraordinary time.
We are blessed to have a skilled and engaged faculty who rapidly mobilized our electronic classrooms so as to shift into e-Classrooms while respecting the social distancing measures of Ontario. Our faculty continues to show their creativity daily through their online lessons. We may be physically separated, but we are together in spirit and forever bonded as a HNMCS Community. We are grateful to be in a position to compensate our teachers in full during this crisis, as they continue your daughter’s exceptional experience.
While e-School is in-session and our students continue to learn, our campus receives ongoing maintenance. We look forward to the day we are permitted to re-enter our HNMCS campus that is, as always, safe, warm, and inviting. To that end, our facilities manager maintains our campus so that we keep the grounds looking beautiful, keep the building systems moving smoothly, and address any potential maintenance problems.
In this 2019-2020 school year, the 12th year of HNMCS’s existence, we eagerly opened an Advancement Office to fundraise, grow advancement, and begin building an endowment for the school. Unfortunately, one of our key fundraising efforts, the Mother Daughter tea, was postponed as a COVID-19 impact. While we had a successful Father Daughter event in February, raising over $65,000, these funds do not cover our operating costs, as all money raised went directly to specific projects as directed by the Committee. So, while we are in this pandemic, the Advancement Office simultaneously builds strategic advancement plans as we address urgent needs of HNMCS driven by COVID-19.
The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we live our lives, do business, and learn. Some of our families have already commented to us that they are feeling these difficult times. We reach out to you today as our objective is twofold: to continue to deliver a high quality education to our girls, and not to lose any of our girls due to what the economic fallout of COVID-19 may inflict on families. To any of you who can financially assist your Holy Name of Mary College School friend or neighbour, we ask you to prayerfully consider what you may be able to offer and to please reach out to us. At this time, gifts given will help to fund unexpected expenses incurred as a result of COVID-19, and to supply emergency tuition assistance for HNMCS families facing new financial burdens. Please connect with Angela Kretz (akretz@hncms.ca), Advancement Director, to discuss options for support.
We also recognize that families may be in different places when it comes to their capacity to support us at this time; please know that we remain committed to all members of the HNMCS community, regardless of their capacity to participate.
During these difficult days, we look to the wisdom of Blessed Mary Angela Truszkowska, foundress of the Felician Sisters; “Let us support each other with prayer; there let us seek strength and guidance.” (I,114).
As we prayerfully maintain our collective hope,
