A Cultural Service Experience
Over the March Break, five HNMCS students travelled alongside SMCS to India for an experience of a lifetime with MetoWe. This trip was the perfect combination of volunteering and building activities and had students immersed in unique cultural experiences. Students participated in Hindi lessons, learned to make Samosas and explored their creative side while learning the art of Bollywood dancing and Henna.
Ava McDowell ‘22 shared her thoughts:
Through travelling to India, I can now confirm that the “life changing” reputation of service trips is the truth. In the community of Aravelli, we were given the unique opportunities of constructing school facilities, and participating in Holi Celebrations. This trip allowed us to build our collaborative skills, and to immerse ourselves in a culture apart from our own.
