Current Opportunities

The Holy Name of Mary College School (HNMCS) Board of Directors, and particularly its Nominating Committee, seeks constituents within the HNMCS and greater Mississauga and Toronto communities called forward in the Felician-Franciscan and Basilian traditions of servant leadership to serve on the Board and its committees by subscribing to the duties of care, loyalty, and obedience.

Mission: Holy Name of Mary College School (HNMCS) empowers young women to transform the world through intellectual curiosity and personal growth as grounded in the Catholic traditions of the Felician Sisters and Basilian Fathers.

Vision: Building a Connected Community, dedicated to developing Curious, Courageous and Compassionate young women.

The Board is composed of members who commit to a three-year term which may be renewed for a second term followed by a year off before another potential new three-year term. We strive to ensure a diversity of members, including community members, alumnae, current parents, and “alumnae” parents, who bring forth a range of experiences and professional skill sets. In addition, we require support for the various committees of the Board, including Advancement, Finance, Governance, and Strategic Planning. Lastly, members sign a conflict of interest policy to ensure what is best for the school and its students remains paramount. At this time, we are particularly eager to engage with individuals whose professional skills lie in finance, fundraising/advancement, legal, and risk management.

The spirit of servant leadership is a critical element of the HNMCS culture. As the Gospel of Mark proclaims, “Then he sat down, called the Twelve, and said to them, ‘If anyone wishes to be first, he shall be the last of all and the servant of all.’ Taking a child he placed it in their midst, and putting his arms around it, he said to them, ‘Whoever receives one child such as this in my name, receives me; and whoever receives me, receives not me but the One who sent me’” (Mark 9: 35-37). We encourage anyone who wishes to assist the school in fulfilling its mission, to step forward and get involved.

If you possess any of the skill sets referenced above, or know of someone who does, and can recommend them to us to serve either on the Board or one of its committees, please email your interest to Ms. Hughes-Grant directly.

We are seeking exemplary Occasional and Supply Teachers in both our Middle School (Grades 5 – 8) and Senior School (Grades 9 – 12).

Applicants must have excellent leadership skills, a thorough understanding of the mission, vision and values of Catholic education, as well as an appreciation of the benefits of an all-girl’s education. This is an outstanding opportunity for a caring and innovative educator to contribute to the development and advancement of girls in an engaging, creative and supportive learning landscape while equipping them with 21st century competencies ready to lead in a fast-paced globally-connected world.
