Athletic Banquet 2022

The StargazerNews

Celebrating Athletic Achievements

For the first time since 2019, we were able to host an in-person athletic banquet. This banquet included many firsts - the Grade 7s and 8s attended for the first time, we handed out the first ever badminton awards, and we introduced the All Star award. Over 80 athletes and coaches attended the banquet as we celebrated the return of a relatively normal athletic year.

A huge congratulations to Sofia Raco (‘26), our U14 Athlete of the Year; to Larysa Grod (‘25), our Junior Athlete of the Year; and to Christina Caklos (‘22), our Senior Athlete of the Year.

We also have to give a huge congratulations to our first ever All Star Award winners. This award is given to those athletes who participated in at least 11 of their 12 athletic seasons during their high school years. This year we had four winners - Christina Caklos (‘22), Isobel Gasparotto-See (‘22), Angeline Medeiros (‘22), and Carina Choi (‘22). These girls were instrumental in shaping and moulding the HNMCS Athletic Program during their time here and will never be forgotten.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this day possible, including our outgoing Athletic Prefect Christina Caklos (‘22) and our incoming Athletic Prefect Sara Rinomato (‘23), and the athletic and house councils.
