A Cowgirl Christmas Tale

The HNMCS School Christmas Concert featured the heartwarming production of 'A Cowgirl Christmas Tale,' a rootin' tootin', toe-tappin' country spectacle that left audiences grinnin' with joy. Set against the rustic backdrop of Dusty Trails, the tale unfolded like a Southern melody, guiding the audience through the transformation of the tough as nails Miss Hattie 'Grumpy' McAllister into the joyous Mrs. Sugarplum 'Joyful' Dalton. Led flawlessly by the HNMCS Drama department, each character was portrayed with a drawl as sweet as honey, spinning a narrative woven with themes of love, redemption, and the promise of a more harmonious world, truly capturing the spirit of Christmas.

The concert was a boot-scootin' showcase of musical and dance acts, the entire cast opened the show with the Christmas Carol Jamboree bringing the house down in true country fashion, featuring our CIS Dance club. From that point on it was soul-stirring harmonies of the Senior School Choir to the toe-tapping tunes of the Middle School Choir, each ensemble added their own touch to the celebration. The Intermediate Choir, Grade 7 and 8 music class and Integrated Arts class all showcased their talents with layers of harmony and festive atmosphere. The Ukrainian Club's performance added an international flair to the festivities and Kayla Ponesse and Isabella Cloutier gave stunning solo performances that resonated through the crisp country air. The Junction Triangle String Band, the bluegrass maestros of the evening, added an extra layer of twang to the festivities, leaving the audience awestruck by their amazing performance. Together, these fine folks from various departments, special thank you to our stage crew and set design created a Christmas shindig that'll be remembered like a favourite line dance on a warm country night.
