HNMCS Swim Stars Make Waves in the Pool

As the season began in November it was clear that the team was ready to showcase their skills in the water. The team doubled in size to 18 swimmers this year with the addition of many experienced swimmers as well as some newcomers to the sport.

No matter whether it be at practice or at a swim meet, the girls were constantly supportive of each other and their individual events. Older, more experienced swimmers were mentors to our new swimmers and even though the team was small in comparison to some of the larger teams, their voices were heard loud and clear while cheering each other on the pool deck!

On March 5th four of the swimmers travelled to the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre in Scarborough to compete against over 1000 swimmers from across Ontario. The Senior Girls Open 200m Individual Medley team competed against 76 other teams and placed 54th overall knocking 3 seconds off of their qualifying time. Isabella placed 34th in the 100m butterfly in a field of over 50 swimmers and 50th out of 100 swimmers in the gruelling 200m Individual Medley.
