Class of 2023 Commissioning

On September 14th we celebrated the Grade 12 Commissioning and Opening mass in-person after an extended break. On this day the community of Holy Name of Mary College School recommits itself to following God’s will in every aspect of school life. Being together in person reaffirmed the joy and pride we hold in being a part of the Holy Name Community, and our mission to uphold our core values of respect, justice, compassion and transformation. This opportunity to celebrate mass together allowed each individual to reflect on their role and contribution to making our community faith-based and meaningful.

The Grade 12 commissioning focused on our senior students who are leaders and serve as role models to the younger girls. In recognition of this responsibility, and to strengthen and support their connection to the school, each Grade 12 student received a special ‘Class of 2023’ kilt pin signifying their ongoing bond with the school and with each other as they prepare for the next stage of their lives beyond HNMCS. Together with the staff and student body, the Grade 12s were called to strive to be living witnesses to Christ in the world. The Class of 2023 was blessed by Fr. Michael, and encouraged to have an open mind and heart, leading to continuous improvement of self and ministry.
