The HNMCS Student Government has also risen to the challenge to provide meaningful and inspiring content to staff and students. In lieu of traditional Chapel periods, the girls have hosted a Netflix movie party for various grades, planned Spirit Days and are even continuing in environmental stewardship, having 200+ people participate in the Great Gulp on a Google Meet.

The student body has been engaged in physical activities, wellness initiatives and ways to stay engaged daily, that include Spotify playlists, recipes and more. In this time of uncertainty their daily announcements which include prayer, general announcements and trivia, allow students to have a sense of routine and see familiar faces. Using social media, this group of dedicated young women have allowed moments of pride, excitement and that of daily student life to be shared digitally.

While it may not be what they had planned, their ability to adapt, iterate and keep the school together in this unprecedented time, speaks to their resiliency and understanding of the core values that bind us together in community.
