Mental Health Awareness Week!

This past month, the Jack.Org Chapter at HNMCS hosted Mental Health Awareness Week, bringing wellness to the forefront. Students spent the week participating in activities that focused on removing stigma and practicing self-care. Students were challenged to think about what mental health means to them and look at the ways in which they help to keep themselves and those around them healthy. With a focus on gratitude and humbling yourself to be who you are, the week promoted the importance of taking time

During Chapel, Middle School students were challenged to think about the ways in which they care for themselves physically, spiritually and emotionally. Senior students spent time exploring the practice of meditation; with food, smell and sound and participated in different activities to help find something that brings them joy and helps them feel centred, including skipping, mind traps, art and a 5 gratitudes exercise.
